There are many factors that impact your decision to develop – from zoning process, to proximity to transit and other amenities, to the cost of land, and the demographic demands. FROM PARLIAMENT HILL TO CITY HALL: HOW DO YOU BRACE FOR THE IMPACT FROM LEGISLATION,
REGULATIONS AND OTHER POLICIES?

Canada recently released the first National Housing Strategy in some time. The market in Ontario is still adjusting to rent control changes in the past year. The Ontario Municipal Board is no more. Municipalities all have their own priorities when it comes to development planning policies beginning with controls through zoning.  And there are so many more regulatory directions across Canada. With all these changes, red tape and sometimes conflicting priorities at all levels of government, what do developers need to understand and how can they best prepare to deal with the implications of these policies. This presentation will examine the root of the matter and provide direction for your next development.
